About GYA

I build subscription apps. Then I write down what worked.

Grow Your Apps started as a private notes file: paywall tests, trial experiments, pricing mistakes. Founders kept asking for it, so now it’s a newsletter, a blog, a set of free tools and a Telegram group.

What GYA is
  • Notes from real subscription apps, with the numbers
  • One idea a week you can try by Friday
  • A small group of founders who answer honestly
  • Free tools that do one job well
What GYA isn’t
  • A course with a countdown timer
  • “10x your MRR” threads
  • Advice from people who’ve never shipped an app
  • A newsletter you’ll feel guilty about not reading
How I work

Four rules I try not to break.

Numbers over opinions
If a tip doesn’t come with a number to watch, it’s a vibe, not a tip.
Small and specific
One change, one week, one metric. Big rewrites hide what actually worked.
Free first
The useful stuff stays free. Paid products go deeper, they don’t lock up the basics.
Build in public
What I try on my own apps gets shared, including what didn’t work.

Finu Shaheem

Founder of Grow Your Apps. I build mobile apps and spend most of my time on the part after launch: getting people to stay, start a trial and keep paying.
